wildlife

Well, down in these here parts of sweltering hot, asphalt covered Texas you have to get excited about whatever kinda wildlife creeps into view. Last Thursday, it was a lizard that was in the recycling bin as Samantha picked it up to return it to its place in the garage. And this is the hilarity that ensued. They were both happy little campers for the rest of the day. There's nothing like their genuine laughter and giddiness that releases the stress and tension of being the sole care taker for three little people that are light years apart in schedules.

After much ado, I present to you The Lizard:

I cannot believe Miss Sam let it get IN HER HAIR!!!!!!!! I shuddered just looking at those photos!

But oh, the smiles...they made this auntie feel so, so good.

She couldn't have been more happy for him to be in her hair. She's one crazy girl...Miss Accessorize and Glitterize and at the same time she runs our checking under the drain spouts for frogs and begs to pick them up. And do you remember two summers ago at the lake, she had everyone building houses for the doodle bugs with leaves and sticks for beds, pillows, blankets, tables, etc, etc.

During the entire lizard encounter she had this incredibly excited/nervous/I'm-so-crazy-I-might-lose-my-mind laugh. Sweet, funny girl!!

And, I can't believe that Miss Sam let that 'GREEN thing' get into her hair BEHIND her right EAR!!!!!
She's a LOT MORE BRAVE than I had imagined--or just adventuresome, maybe????? LOVE & MISS YOU ALL!!!!
